The Border Collie was born in the British Isles and grew to maturity in the border country of England and Scotland. There are several theories surrounding the derivation of the "Collie" portion of his name, but no doubt as to his purpose in life. Some historians claim that "colley" derives from a Gaelic word meaning something useful, some say it comes from "coalie," a word meaning black, and a third source trace the meaning from the name of a breed of Scottish sheep. But few would disagree that the Border Collie is the finest sheepherding dog, a marvelous competition dog, and a suitable if somewhat hyperactive pet for lively households.

   1. Locate a suitable graphic image, where the image or outline of the shape is clearly defined. If possible the graphic should be in sillhouette form in GIF format and file size of less than 200kb. However, we often work from suitable photographs. A side on profile normally works best.

   2. Send your graphic image as an e-mail attachment to Flairmet@weathervane.uk.com. We reserve the right to charge the normal undiscounted price if the image is, in our opinion, not suitable for inclusion in our Catalog. In this case we will advise you before proceeding with the order and give you an option to cancel.

5. Note: ensure that the e-mail address which you send it from is the same as the address given in your order, so we can match the image with this order item, or provide details of the e-mail address on the order when you send the image.
