Shapes of Gates

A simple guide to general wrought iron (steel) gate shapes. Any shape required but not included here can be e-mailed or faxed to us. These gates are made to order to fit customers' specific dimensions. Most shapes are available for most designs, and most are available as single gates, double gates and railings. Although available with shaped tops it is unusual for balcony railings to be shaped and balustrading is assumed to have a flat top (albeit on an incline). Flat top - small single (garden) gate (prod ref: S3) Flat top shape. Shown as a small single (garden) gate in the "Basic" design. A pedestrian gate suitable for pathways, gardens, side entrances etc. Single (garden) gates normally range from 0.9m (3ft) to 1.7m (5½ ft) wide and and from 0.9m (3ft) to 1.4m (4½ft) high. Larger dimensions can be accommodated. This shape is available in a wide range of designs and gates can be automated. Railheads can be added to most designs. Flat top - tall single gate (prod ref: S6) Flat top shape. A straight topped design shown as a tall single gate in the "Basic" design. Suitable for as a front or garden gate and for pathways, side entrances etc. Taller gates are particularly suitable to help make a side access more secure. Gates normally range from 0.9m (3ft) to 1.7m (5½ ft) wide and from 1.5m (5ft) to 2m (6½ ft) high. Larger dimensions can be accommodated. Wider gates may be used as swing gates for yard, paddocks, farm or commercial use. This shape is available in a wide range of designs and gates can be automated.
